Checking in...

It seems like forever since I sat down to actually write a post for my blog. However, I don’t think anyone reads my blogs anyway!! It has been a busy few weeks. We have begun the process of painting our living room and kitchen. It is quite a large space with high ceiling in the living room. When the temperature first dropped down it was perfect, there was no rain just cold air. So we opened up the windows and painted away. That was 2 weeks ago. Last week the weather was wonderful it was very cold and rainy (even a little snow). I loved it, however; you can not paint with all that humidity. So I sewed some and cleaned. I also had a bit of a cold so I spent one cold rainy day on the couch. Before we began the painting project I had finished my work at home training for my second contractor job. It was some tough training and took several days. I enjoy my other certification, but this one may be too much for me. I love my work at home job. I get to pick my own hours and work when I feel like it. It gives me a way to earn a little extra money all in the comfort of my basement office.

This weekend I went to a local quilt show. It turned out to be bigger than I expected. There were some wonderful quilts shown. I went for 2 hours on Saturday with my oldest daughter and then I went back on Sunday to take my youngest. Both of them seemed to enjoy it. My best friend from Oklahoma City has a 12 year old daughter that entered her first quilt in the show. She did a great job!!

J (my 12 year old) went to Solo and Ensemble on Friday and she came in first and got a medal for her trumpet playing. She had also entered a story in a writing contest for the state of Arkansas and was in the top 105 of 56,000. She will get some type of award for that too. Way to go J!! Last week we had parent teacher conferences. Both girls are doing very well in school we are proud of them. They both seem to enjoy school. I am glad because I did not like school it was 12 grades of misery for me!! LOL

I have a pretty busy week ahead of me. It is supposed to be warmer (not too happy about that) but I will be able to paint some more. I am ready to get my house back together. Home Improvement projects really get me out of sorts. I like order and tranquility and when things get out of place, it makes me a little uneasy. I am also going to have lunch with a couple of different people this week. It is funny because I can spends days sometimes weeks just piddling around the house alone. No one calls me or e-mails then suddenly I have several invitations. I guess it is feast or famine.
