Back to the hospital

Tuesday morning at 4 a.m. the phone rings, it is my father. He is running a fever of over 103 degrees. He has the chills and is unable to get his temperature down. I go get him and take him to the ER. The doctors run tests to check for pneumonia or some other bacterial infection. About 7 a.m. he gets admitted. They can find no sign of pneumonia or any other common infection. They put him on IV fluids and antibiotics. He spent a week in the hospital just a week prior to this. He did not even have time to recover from that stay before he is back in the hospital. He is growing increasingly frustrated. His fever breaks and comes back every day. It is now Saturday and we still are not sure what the problem is. The doctors tell us Lymphoma and Pulmonary Embolism causes fever in itself. However, the on call doctor this morning thinks he should be improving and orders more tests including a new CT. It is 4:30 in the afternoon and we are still waiting on the test results. Arrrrgggghhhhhhhh!! It gets so frustrating. My Dad continues to get weaker and weaker. He has lost about 10 pounds and has no appetite. It is hard to watch such a strong man become so weak and helpless. So my life continues to be in chaos. I did manage to get some sewing done on Friday afternoon. I made my daughter a tote bag for her school books. They are not allowed to carry backpacks into the classrooms so many of the girls are using tote bags. I will post pics of it tomorrow on my 360 blog. (We made a frayed pocket on the outside and we are waiting for it to run through the dryer and get frayed) Thank you for your prayers and messages I have been feeling kind of isolated lately. Coming home and seeing that someone has left me a message has been especially nice these past few weeks. Thank you.
